*How do you promote school spirit: We do a spirit week 2x a year. We dress up and do different things throughout the year. We also do 2 pep rally’s a year. We have a uniform policy but we like to waer school t-shirts on Friday to promote school spirit. We also have the cheerleaders do announcements in the mornings when different sports teams within our schools win.
* #1 Safety Tip: Always have spotters when trying new stunts. You also need to have stunt progression so that you can work your way up to the level that you want to be at. You need to master the lesser stunts before you can move on.
*How do you motivate your team: We always talk it out. Sometimes we do a spirit circle. If we have an issue/problem we just talk it out in the spirit circle. I try to always give them something to look forward too.
* Advice to new cheer coaches: You need to be the authority. But not too much. They need to know that you are not their friend. You are the coach. You don’t want to lose control. You want them to know that you always have the final say.
* Most googled cheerleading info: Stunts and stunting ideas. We are always looking for new and fresh stunt transitions.
