Pro Cheer League is HERE! *\o/*

Hello cheerleading family. I hope everyone is keeping warm!

Last weekend our cheerleaders had their showcase and I am AWAYS SO PROUD of our kids and how much they achieve each season.  But with this showcase, it made me wonder, how many of our kids will be in the Pro Cheer League in 15 years?

If you haven’t heard, Varsity Spirit created the Pro Cheer League that airs on ION TV – CLICK HERE.  It is AWESOME to see our sport continue to grow and now to a professional leveI!  Here are some take aways, let us know your thoughts:

  1. Cheerleading has now evolved to a NEW level and the seeds are now planted for an even more AMAZING future. I wonder where it’s going to be in 10 years, 20 years; so congratulations to Varsity, all of the athletes and ION TV for this monumental task that we have all been asking for.
  2. If you make a mistake, keep going! It’s normal and it happens to all of us, so keep going; this weekend‘s event was a perfect example of that and well done.
  3. It’s about new beginnings! Never be afraid to try something new, get out there and try new things. I’m sure things are going to evolve, but you know that you have to start somewhere and it was awesome.
  4. Cheerleading is about family. You saw the athletes cheer each other on through every event, through the mistakes and through the victories of perfect routines. They were there for each other and that’s what this sport is truly about.
  5. It’s also about sportsmanship. We saw the athletes congratulate athletes on the other teams and being proud of what everyone accomplished that day.
  6. It was about Inspiration. It showed all of us a new level of what skilled and amazing athletes these cheerleaders are!
  7. The Pro Cheer League also is about pride. It’s about being proud of the skills that you have cultivated for years and being at your best which is what was absolutely on display at the Pro Cheer League’s first round.
  8. A new opportunity has been opened for all cheerleaders knowing that you can continue to compete after your collegiate or all star career is over – just like so many other sports.

So if you haven’t seen the Pro Cheer League yet, absolutely check it out on ION TV and watch the amazing athletes who are making history for our sport.  This is a celebration for our sport and I just want to say thank you to everyone involved and let’s get excited as the Olympics is NEXT!

Easily Organize Your Cheerleading Social Media with our Planner and Templates

As we get back to coaching today and getting ready for our upcoming showcase, we are thinking about our Social Media and what we want to put out there.
This is also a common question that we get for suggestions on what to post, how much to post and how to design your images.  So, here are some things you can post about:
  • Images of your Captains
  • Your Seniors
  • Homecoming information
  • Game Schedules
  • Announcements about your newly selected team.
  • Tryouts
  • Upcoming Events
  • Anything you want to share about your cheerleaders like when one is accepted to college.
Tip:  Before you post, make sure you have a media release signed by their parents.
Ok, so now you know what to post, but how do you create images EASILY that will highlight your cheerleaders?
Answer:  CANVA
CANVA is our favorite source for all things editing!!!!  And the best part is that you can use it for FREE!!  YAH!!!
